Hello and welcome to the Instructor information page.
On this page and the Risk Assessment page you should be able to find all the resources that you need to be able to help and instruct at Priory Sailing Club.
Priory Sailing Club is a RYA Recognised Training Centre and MUST follow a number of RYA guidelines.
To be able to do this the Club needs to have a number of documents in place such as Standard Operating Procedures, Health & Safety Policy, Risk Assessments etc and it’s your responsibility as an instructor to read them and act upon them.
When you agree to run a session or course you have agreed that you have read and understood everything that is required.
That includes, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Emergency Action Plane (EAP), Health & Safety Policy, Child Protection and Vulnerable Adults Policy, Risk Assessments and that you understand what you are supposed to be teaching.
What is very important – If you don’t understand then you have a duty to ask.
There are many people at Priory that you can get advice and guidance from but in the first instance I suggest that you seek advice if needed from:
Neal Fazakerley – RYA Training Centre Principal – RYA Power Boat Instructor – RYA Dinghy Instructor
Pascale Hewett – RYA Training Centre Chief Instructor (Dinghy) – RYA Senior Instructor- RYA Windsurfing Instructor
Tim Hewett – RYA Training Centre Chief Instructor (Windsurfing) – RYA Training Centre RYA Chief Instructor (Power Boating) – RYA Senior Instructor, RYA Windsurfing Instructor & RYA Power Boat Instructor
Sue Baker – RYA First Aid Instructor – RYA Senior Instructor
We are also very fortunate at Priory that we have a number of other Senior Instructors and Instructors that have lots of experience.
